Looking For A Church

1 John 5:1

1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.

Let's make this simple:

"Everyone who believes that the house they are in is going to explode in ten minutes is born of God."

Belief carries with it an action. For my little demonstration about the house, it is OBVIOUS that a child of God would get the heck out of that house!

If they really didn't believe at all, they would not move. "Um, I think I'll just finish the last of this show..."

1 John 3:23 NIV

23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 John 4:20-21NIV

20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

21 And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

If you are unkind to ANY believer without any repentance, you do not love God... Scripture doesn't give any options for it being OK because of race, station, dress, doctrine, or even smell!

If you don't love your brothers and sisters in Christ, you don't love Christ, you don't really believe.

John 14:15 NIV

15 “If you love me, keep my commands.

John 15:12 NIV

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

John 13:35 NIV

35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Do you see it? There is no room...no room at all for treating other believers as less than.

To do so is what Goats do.

So, where is the real Church of the Living God?
