Perfectly Planned

Jonah 3:4-5

4. On the first day, Jonah started into the city. He proclaimed: "Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned."

5. The Ninevites believed God. They declared a fast, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.

Did you know, that the folks in Ninevah during the time of Jonah, worshiped a fish god named Dagon?

Did you know that Jonah, who hated Ninevah and wanted them destroyed, disobeyed God and fled by sea?

Did you know that it is extremely likely that some Ninevahites saw Jonah get spit out of a fish just before he went through the city predicting God's coming judgment?

Do you realize that it is extremely likely that this is probably why the Ninevahites repented in sack cloth?

So, in Jonah's disobedience, He added incredible emphasis to the prophetic warning, thus saving the city he wanted God to destroy?

Yeah, even in Jonah's utter rebellion, he perfectly did what God wanted done...kind of like it was all intentional.

It was.

You cannot mess up God's plan.

Jonah didn't.

Ah, but keep in mind...Judas didn't either.

If you trust God He will use you to save people.

If you don't trust God, He will use you to save people.

The difference isn't in the action, or the result. The difference is how you end up.
