Sources of Truth

Updated: 3 days ago

It doesn't matter what you think, or what you believe. If it's not true, and you follow that way, you will end up in the wrong place.

This is, and alway has been, a reality that hits like the ground, after you jump off a building.

The end result is final.

It's by no mistake that God's word, over and over, demands Himself to be first, First for truth, First for Love, First for our entire lives.

If you have put him as a "Sunday only", when desperately needed, or just when things are good kind of relationship...He will spit you out.

He should be the first place we go to for questions, problems, information and, well, everything.

He is not.

I see so much straining at a knat, that it is bizarre. These are side issues, from what day the Sabbath is on, to when Jesus is coming back.

Almost all of these folks cannot defend their view in their own words, but instead point all inquiries to a video, or article by some "impressive" source for truth. When I refuse to go down that rabbit hole, they get insulting, and rude.

Suffice it to say, they profess to be wholey biblical, but ignore the command to "speak the truth in love." Love is kind, rudeness it is not.

If you look at scripture, REALLY look at scripture, you will find most of the popular teachers are absolutely wrong on many key issues. Yet, the worst of it is their lack of intentionally pointing their followers to the absolute source of truthful information...God Himself.

Yes, there are many theological points that can be debated, discussed and even argued, and they should be...in love. But pointing to someone "impressive" rather than together seeking God for truth, is foolish.

One of the hardest, and greatest, things God has done for me, was to tell me to quit school and join a ministry in Houston. I thought the pastor to be a prophet. He sure thought he was. Instead, he turned out to be a nut job, that needed followers for his ego. As I watched him lie, cheat, and even steal, I kept making excuses for him, because he was a "great man of God".

I'd seen him do some miraculous things!

No one, is a great man of God. There are only men of a great God. If they point to themselves and/or their ministry...run from them.

Seek God first, Jesus said. He didn't say to become the source for truth, or point to another.

Stop pointing to men. Read that book, point to Jesus Christ, and leave the leading to Him.
