The Key to Life

2 Corinthians 2:7

7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Galatians 5:16

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

It is written that Jesus was given the Spirit without measure. He had unlimited faith, because He knew the Father.

Look, He said it. Anyone can't read it and see.

Walking by faith IS walking by the Spirit.

When we come to Jesus Christ we are given a measure of faith. We are also given a measure of the Spirit.

What we do with it next is on us. Do we seek God to make that measure grow or do nothing and leave it up to a God we think getting to know is not worth any effort?

Have you never read the parable about the talents? Do you really think God is judging all on what we do with our abilities, when over and over He plainly stated He wants to find faith in us?

Yeah, doing nothing is bad.

Oh and regarding not gratifying the flesh, or rather sin, walking by faith is to trust God. If I know that God said lying is bad for me, and I trust Him, I won't do it.

For example, if you trust someone implicitly, and they said "don't eat that cupcake it's poisoned". You won't eat it, because you believe them. It's not true "relatively", it's just true because you know the one who told you. They wouldn't lie and they aren't fooling around.

Faith drives action.

Do you want to end a struggle with sin? Get to know God.

Do you want to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit? A greater faith gives us the capacity to house a greater measure of the Spirit of God.

"Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you..."

If you can't trust the Father, who is in control of all circumstances, then you will continue to lie to protect yourself. That, and all other manner of evil things.

Yeah, trusting God is key to walking in power and holiness.

Otherwise, you are on your own...
