The Message Cain Did Not Accept

After showing favor to Abel and not to Cain, Cain got upset.

It's understandable if the favor was about the brothers work. It wasn't.

It was about the heart.

God spoke to Cain and told him the most direct and simple salvation message in the Old Testament.

Unfortunately, Cain did not accept it...

Genesis 4:7

[7] If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

Acceptance is only recieved through Faith in God, through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the focal point to trusting God. God is the Father outside of time and space. The Author of everything. The One in control.

Trusting in God is the only thing you can do that is right.

[7] If you do what is right (have Faith in God), will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right (have Faith in God), sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

Sin is the struggle with the knowledge of distance between good and evil, or God and man. The distance from God, or the Center, is how the word became used in archery. To hit the target anywhere outside the center was the sin. You missed the mark.

The Law, is the written form of the knowledge of good and evil. The Law shows us the distance between us and a perfect God. The Law points us to faith in Jesus Christ by revealing our inability to become God, or be perfect. It points to Faith which offers acceptance.

[7] If you do what is right (have Faith in God), will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right (have Faith in God), sin (The struggle with the knowledge of the distance between good and evil, or the Law) is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

To master sin, you must understand you cannot be perfect. You cannot be in control like God. Not even of your own thoughts. You can only realize your need and seek to know God, who can be trusted.

Here is what God said in full measure:

[7] If you have Faith in God, will you not be accepted? (Yes!) But if you do not have Faith in God, the struggle with the knowledge of the distance between you and God is crouching at your door; it desires to drive you further away, but you must use it to see your need for Gods grace and turn back and trust Him"

It is really simple, this message of Good News. We make it hard in our attempts to still become more...we like effort or "works".

God only wants faith. A simple trust in Him.

Do you accept it?
