A Chosen Nation

God picked Abraham out of all of the people in the world. God picked Jacob over Essau, who was the oldest by birth. God picked. It was and always has been God's choice.

Scripture says this over and over.

"Oh, but He chooses all men, but only those who choose Him are saved!

This, is wildly unbiblical as much as saying God will accept everybody since He made them.

God chooses who lives, who dies. God chooses who is born blind and who is not.

"That is because of sin! Its not God's choice!"

John 9:1-3

[1] As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.

[2] His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

[3] "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.

You will notice Jesus never says that sin caused the blindness...so why do you? If fact, Jesus declares that God choose to have the man born blind just to make Jesus look good!

Does that bother you?

Why?

Are you judging God? Yes, yes, you are.

How can you, in your limited view of all of time and space possibly judge God as doing wrong for anything, even setting up Pharoah, and Judas to fail?

Doesn't that seem arrogant? Kind of like thinking you know good better than the only one who IS good?

I know someone else who has done that...

So, God chose a nation out of all nations. Not because they were good. Not because they where strong. Not because they were wise.

He chose them because He chose them.

He does that with those who are given the faith to believe in Jesus.

No, He does not do that with everyone. He didn't go all around the world and ask each leader to go to Caanan. He picked one man. That's right, just one man.

He hasn't changed.

If you can't accept what scripture says regarding God, do you really worship God? It is extremely important!

This idea that God offers all His promises to all people just isn't true.

The promises are only for His chosen...Isreal.

Romans 9:6

[6] It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

Claiming a promise is irrelevant. You must be who the promise was made to. If God has promised to you, He will do it whether or not you believe it! He is not depending on you unless He states otherwise, and if He is depending on you, you WILL do it.

Please stop making God weak. Shoot, Stan Lee created characters more powerful than you believe God is!

Tomorrow, when I get up, I could go blind from some weird bacteria. God never promised me a good day tomorrow. On the contrary, He said plainly that we would have trouble.

"God doesn't do that! It would have be Satan's doing!"

Is your idea of God really so weak? Do you really see God wringing His hands, "Oh, crap, look what that damn devil has done! Now, I can't fix my child unless they ask me, and ask properly using the 7 steps of whatever from pastor Impressive!"

Now, if God says to me that morning, "I will heal your blindness", then He WILL! There is no doubt, for He absolutely does what He says He will do.

Ah, but when...

If He didn't say, then it will happen when He wants it to.

If you believe in Jesus Christ, you are chosen, just like Isreal.

If you grow closer to Him in knowledge and faith, it is because you are chosen for that. If you don't, it is because you were chosen, but given a smaller measure of that gift of faith...one talents worth.

This is important. Your faith in God is the measure of reward. It is how close you get to God and how close you will be forever.

No more crying, no more sorrow.

Whatever your desire to be relationally with God, will be sufficient for you. Yes, He made you that way. When this is over, no one, who is chosen, will be dissapointed. Whether close to Him, or more distant, you will not be sad about it.

A noble pot, or common. It is the Potter's choice. Your choice only reflects His.

If you are chosen, by God, you belong to God. You are His work. You always were, you always will be.

He always finishes His work.

In fact, from His perspective, you are already done.

Your job, in the hear and now, is simply to trust and follow, seek and grow closer. If you trust Him, He will guide you. If you trust Him, He will do it, guiding every step.

If you believe you can mess it up, you dont trust Him. You still believe you are chosen because of you.

Sounds to me like maybe you are not chosen at all...

Faith, is the circumcision. The reason God's choice is visible to outsiders. It shows your nationality.

Isreal has always been those who trust God.
