Consider Others First

Isaiah 14:13-15

[13] You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.

[14] I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High."

[15] But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.

Proverbs 16:18-19

[18] Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

[19] Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.

Matthew 20:16

[16] "So the last will be first, and the first will be last."

Matthew 23:12

[12] For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Do you see the consistency?

Do you see the pattern?

If you raise yourself.

If you ascend.

If you demean others, even if it's just in your heart, in order to raise yourself. You are not a child of God.

Philippines 2:5-7

[5] Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

[6] Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

[7] but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

Be like Jesus.
