If God Wanted

If God wanted to, He could end abortion right now.
He could open the sky and shout down at evil men and say "ENOUGH!"
He could shake the ground really hard, and fill all men with such a terror that their hearts would fail at the very thought of disobedience.
He could make every child completely indestructible until birth.
He could give every abortion doctor, and nurse, a horrible form of cancer.
He could send an Angel to every mother just thinking about killing their child.
He could stop every car, or bus, on the way to a clinic.
He could permanently kill the power at every abortion center and baffle everyone at how He does it.
He is God, outside, and above, time, space and matter. He is the Author of the story, the very Word the story is written by.
Of course He could...if He wanted to.
"Are you saying God wants abortion?"
Yes, yes I am.
I'm saying that if God wanted anything to be different...it would be.
Who could stop Him? Satan? You?
Hardly.
I'm not saying God likes abortion.
God, Himself says He hates murder.
God, Himself says He hates lies.
God, Himself says He hates evil.
"So, why does He have any of it happen at all? Why could He possibly want all this evil!?"
Do you really think Jesus wanted to go to the cross, suffer and die? Clearly, because of His prayer in Gethsemane, He did not.
Oh, but He did.
"!?"
Luke 12:49-60
[49] "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
[50] But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed!
He saw the bigger picture, the one we cannot see.
He has a plan. He has a goal. To get to the final destination, there is a path to take, a way to build that requires difficulty, pain, sorrow, and sacrifice.
He says it will be worth it. Specifically to those He chooses it for.
"Why did it have to be so hard? Couldn't He have made it easier?"
He is a being outside of time and space. He, logically, cannot make mistakes. If there was a better way, He would have done it.
Why it has to go this way, we cannot see, or understand. This is why faith, or trust in Him is so important.
One of the greatest reasons He went to the cross, suffering so, is to show us He is not putting us through anything He is not willing to go through Himself. Like any good leader would.
Yes, God is in control.
Yes, God is the Author.
Yes, Jesus is the Word that all of reality is written by.
Yes, this whole story is written with a goal in mind.
Yes, that goal is a massive blessing to those He chooses.
"How do you know if you are chosen?"
You will trust Him...even when it hurts.
