Knowledge Isn't Power, God Is

Updated: Nov 2

The  Law is the written form of the knowledge of good and evil. It is knowledge of right and wrong. It is a choice to do good, or not.

It is "freewill".

This is what they got from the tree in the garden, because they wanted to ascend and be like God. It was a lie from Satan, that we all still struggle with.

The knowledge, the choice, the Law will never empower you to become like God. It only shows that you fail. As God said it would, it brings death, separation from life.

God is life.

You cannot become God.

Salvation or acceptance by God is in faith alone. Trusting Jesus Christ enough to submit to His authority over everything, especially our choices.

It is accepting Him as Lord.

He is already Lord over everyone and everything, and at the end everyone will admit it.

Romans 14:10-11

[10] You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

[11] It is written: "`As surely as I live,' says the Lord, `every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'"

Phillipians 2:10-11

[10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

[11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

There is no free will. We cling to it because we are stuck with that desire for control, the desire to become like God. It will not save you because your choices will never be good enough. It is the struggle with the Law.

Submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is recognizing the truth, that He is God. He is in control, and the only thing we can do is trust Him in it.

We are then no longer under the Law, because it pointed us to Christ. We trust Him with our "choices" our decisions, and "know" He will guide us.

This is walking by faith.

If you understand this, you are free.

If you still struggle with your choices, then you are trapped by the Law, trying to still be "like" God. When you fail, it points to Jesus, all you need to do is turn back and trust Him.

If He gives you faith, you will.

John 15:16

[16] You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

Both Peter and Judas betrayed Jesus. The difference was Peter had faith that Jesus would forgive him...Judas did not.

Matthew 13:12

[12] Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

At the end, both will bow and declare "Jesus is Lord", but only Peter will find acceptance...because He believed.

Yes, in the end, we will ALL acknowledge that Jesus is Lord. That He is sovereign. That He is in control.

That He alone is God.

Yet, only those who are written in the book of life, those who trust Him now, will be spared from eternal destruction.

It's not up to you.

It never was.

It is His choice.

Do you trust Him?

Did He choose you?

Or, are you still trusting you, and your wonderful choices?
