Not Judging Here

Do you understand the reason the "rules" Jesus gave in the sermon on the mount were impossible?

He was speaking to Jews who believed they could be perfect under the Law.

The Law is the written form of the knowledge of Good (God) and evil (anything else).

Man cannot be God. The Law shows this. It is an obsticle course that only God can complete. It exposes good and evil, or God and man. It reveals the vast separation between the two...and the need for something, or someone to breach the gap.

The audience, the people Jesus spoke to, believed that because they had the Law, as a people, that they were in fact good enough. They didn't know they needed God's grace. They didn't know they could draw nearer to God. They didn't know how far away they really were. They thought they could live up to the rule, complete the course, and become "like" God.

Matthew 5:27-28

[27] "You have heard that it was said, `Do not commit adultery.'

[28] But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Yeah, no. The full measure of the Law, the absolute perfection of God is even expressed in every thought.

His heart is perfect.

Yours is not.

We need Him.

It was a mercy for Jesus to tell us of it. It was to free us from Judgement, not for judgement.

If God shines on you with His grace, mercy and forgivness, because you trust Him...then there is no judgement. None at all.

Romans 8:1

[1] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

You can trust Him.

Like the Law, it is His gift to you.
