Seeking

I've been seeking God since before I started this journey over 40 years ago. Aside from finding very few who even seemed inclined in that direction, I've met with scoffing, insult and ridicule. I find this bizzare at best.

It seems to me that one of the most unique things about man is our drive to understand and investigate. Oh, sure, much "science" seemed to end up devoted in discovering better ways to kill each other, but the goal of understanding is still underlying the whole effort.

Why.

That is the question. Why are we here? What is beyond? How does it function?

Who built this?

Oh, there is definitely a God, a "designer". That is obvious to anyone who is even slightly intellectually honest. Nothing doesn't create something...unless nothing IS something.

"That is something!"

God, a being outside, above, and beyond everything, including time and space.

I once said that it matters that we understand the biblical God is beyond time, when my current pastor scoffed, then got up and left the table.

A pastor, who mocked me for seeking to know God?

Yes, it had happened before, many times since, and I'm sure it will many times until the One outside of time and space returns to show who He really is.

Look, it's important, and nothing to scoff at. Jesus said seeking God should be first...before EVERYTHING else.

That includes family, friends and our very lives.

So, why do so many just ignore this seeking? This "science?

Honestly, I can't answer that other than God has not called them to...or written, ordained, predestined, made, them to.

Why He does, what He does, is what I want to know. Not to judge, but to understand Him, to know Him. Much like a small child admires and hounds his father..."Where do babies come from?"

Relationship. A close relationship. Due to admiration and curiosity.

My Father is beyond me. Of course He is, because I am in time, He is WAY beyond that. It's terribly impressive!

The silly thing is we try to use our understanding, our tools to make sense of Him.

It's ridiculous!

When a person meets someone in another country, of a completely different language, to understand them, they must find common ground. They might pick up a rock and say "stone". Then hope for a response..."piedra". Now, you have a means of begining communication. Which of course is the start of of a relationship.

So, how do you even begin to understand a being outside of time and space!?

You can't, only He can.

He made us, this being. This God. This Author. We don't even understand what we are. How on earth can we possibly relate, unless He does something...like become one of us. Oh, and implant in us a measure of Himself.

Now we have a personage to communicate with AND a language in which to do so.

Jesus is God in time and space, The Holy Spirit is the "connection", the means of communication and understanding. Without both, we cannot and will not be able to relate to the One so far beyond us that we can't even grasp His existence.

So, why do so many, even pastors scoff at this pursuit?

I'm guessing fear. It seems so easy to instead bring something down to our level, to stupify the grand into a means an idiot can accept.

Where do babies come from? "A stork brings them, and drops them off on a doorstep."

There are many stupid, untrue things that children believe so they can rationalize the actual complexities of life.

Christians, believers in Jesus Christ do not need to do this. It is seriously child like.

He gave us His Rosetta Stone. His Spirit isn't just to help us see what is a sinful choice, His Spirit connects us to Him directly.

1 John 2:27

[27] As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.

He IS within us, if we have been given the faith to believe in Jesus. We have the connection. We can easily just sit and connect, and watch Him "download" information and understanding about Himself. Adding that to the scriptures, well, now you can see, hear, feel, sense, well everything about the One who you seek.

So, instead of depending on "impressive" men, their books, and audio files, maybe plug into the Power Source yourself.

Unless you really are not interested in Him.

Ah, now that is the real question here. If you seek, you WILL find, that is what Jesus said.

It then makes sense, if you don't seek...you WON'T  find.

"Yes, child, it's the stork that brings babies!"
