Sources of Information

Do you really think that a God, who picked one nobody in southern Mesopotamia to create a difficult and rebellious nation of people, just to bring forth a man who was specifically designated to save His children scattered throughout mankind, would make the truth of who He is obvious?

Of course, knowing who God is at all should reveal His absolute capability to get anyone's attention, anywhere, and at any time.

He could simply smack you in the head and say "Yo!".

He could light the sky on fire and appear as a gorgeous old man in the sky.

He could call you on your phone (yes, He knows your number).

He could create a television station, transmit the signal to everyone's mind and do it for free!

He can do anything He wants. Yet He came as a man through that tiny nation that didn't even exist for the last two thousand years.

Why?

I have no idea...and I have asked.

A prophet is no one important. They can only communicate to this Most Powerful Being, and it has nothing to do with them. They were picked, no different than any Christian who comes to believe (that is what is written, regardless of what anyone believes). A prophet just hears, knows, and senses, what God says, wants or commands. All they can do is repeat it as best as possible, while trusting Him to guide the passing of information. God is the one who makes any message effective or useless.

Although, to Him, nothing is useful, so useless is useful.

The end result has always been His. Truth is His. The revealing of truth...is HIS.

That is all a real prophet does. He, or she reveals truth.

So, how do you know it is truth? Are they a prophet of God, or a useless man with a deceptive message?

You need to find the source of information.

The prophet is not the source. The media is not the source. Your neighbor is not the source. They all heard it from somewhere. It is our challenge to find out where.

Ah, but we are so lazy!

We like it easy. We like it simple. We like it because it is fast...and we like being first. The first to know...even if we don't know if it is true.

"I know that man didn't go to the moon! I have seen the evidence! I have heard from the sources!"

Have you?

Consider all of the liars and deceivers out there. Trump is a racist as said by his enemies. Biden was a snake man, said by his enemies. "Michelle Obama is a man", is not being said by her supporters! Sure, they have evidence. They have video. I have seen some of the ridiculous arguments on the men on the moon. Yet how many faked videos are out there? Why would I trust someone I don't know, to believe something I have no information about?

Yet, many, MANY do.

In the mid 1980's I quit collage to join a ministry in Houston, Texas, led by a man who was a deceived deceiver. I did believe he had a faith in Jesus, but by his actions, he revealed that he didn't know Jesus Christ at all. He, like most, knew about Him...that is all.

The funny thing is that God was the one who told me to quit school and join this ministry, led by a loon. I did it, and because God sent me and I trusted all that this crazy said...for two years.

"God wouldn't do that!"

Yet, He did.

Do you really think that I would have just gone along with a "feeling", silly dream, or a word from a supposed man of God?

Maybe you do. Maybe you think I am a loon. I get that, I have no platform, no pulpit, no following. I am a nobody. A no one. Ah, but isn't that how God likes to communicate?

I had 30 days of evidence from God, telling me to go. I wasn't noble. I wasn't faithful. I did what He commanded, but I argued with Him for 30 days...until I pissed Him off. Yes, He still gets pissed off, and it is terrifying.

I did do it. I quit my life, sold and gave away everything and moved to Houston, Texas. Two years later, the Holy Spirit started talking to me again. He showed me how much of the bible I was avoiding in order to make following this guy tolerable. I wanted to belong. I ended up as the guy's second. I was someone in this little "ministry".

God showed me how I got deceived. It happened because I wanted it to. He did too, obviously, but His reasons were not mine. His was for me to learn, to see, to understand. Mine was to be important, to elevate myself, to be more.

He, of course, was right, and I was wrong.

I did learn though. wanting to be impressive is a huge temptation. It started at the Garden, at the foot of a tree...

I am not God. I may just pass along the information He gives, but that is all I can do. All of it is up to Him. He is the source, and He is the result. If He wanted my information to have evidence, He could do it. If He wanted it to have umph, He could easily raise the dead around me. He doesn't.

No, it is not because of me. Who am I to be able to stand in His way? The One who could set the sky on fire with a word. Yeah, me, little me, could interfere with THAT Guy! You must be special to think otherwise! Well, you think you are special...able to control, able to manipulate The One. Yes, you ARE special!

I went to Houston to learn that deception is a temptation to become important, to become more. It is the first and easiest sign that you are accessing the wrong source of information. Houston wasn't my only place to learn this. Pastor after arrogant pastor, teacher after arrogant teacher, no one was a useful source of information. Most of them were mean, evil and self-promoting jerks, as evil as any unsaved employer I ever worked for.

They were not the source I needed. They weren't meant to be.

I got information from all of them, even the guy in Houston. I got information because the Source of Information opened my eyes. He likes to do it this way. Why? That one is easy. He does this so you learn to see Him in everything. You learn to hear Him in everyone, and everywhere. He IS God. He is in charge of all, even the evil ones who vex you.

Look, trust is what He wants. If He wants you to trust Him and not someone else, He will get you there. He will use everything to His advantage. He didn't lose control of anything in the Garden. He didn't. He is and always has been the One in charge.

That is what scripture says.

The question is, what does He want with you, or any other guy? He doesn't fail, so if a man is deceived or even a deceiver, if God wants, He can change them instantly. If He doesn't, well, they are not His children. He doesn't want them.

"That is not my god!"

No, it is not. You have a god that you made up, using tiny pieces of scripture to fit into an image of a happy, loving god who will accept anything, anyone, anywhere.

The truth is...He won't.

Look, you didn't come to Jesus because you were so smart. You didn't come to Jesus because you were better. You came to Jesus Christ because God the Father dragged you to Him. He did it...you didn't.

That IS what it says. You either hold to the authority of scripture, or you don't. If you don't, you are probably listening to some guy who tells you what fits with your "image". This guy is your prophet, and his source of information is not The Source.

That, is a problem. It IS what I did in Houston. I won't do it again.

You can believe in a flat earth. The information to point that way is out there. There is also a great deal of evidence to say it is a crazy idea. How do you know?

Donald Trump wants to be Hitler. The information is out there. His enemies say it on the media all day long. There is also much evidence otherwise. What do you believe?

It doesn't matter what the argument is. You need to find the source...THE SOURCE.

Me, I find Him sitting quietly, but He can talk to anyone in a crowded street. I think the difference is where you focus your attention. Loud, or quiet environment, focus on the One really behind the curtain. Behind the wicked one who appears to rule this world. Yes, behind everything. That is where I look. When I do, I see a face...and He smiles.

That is the source. If He wants, you will hear Him everywhere, in everything, and anytime He wants. It isn't up to you, other than your looking for Him. Ah, but even that is a desire given by Him.

Well, it is nice to know. It just shows you are called. You are His. It doesn't matter then if there really are snake people, if the greys are running the show, or multiple universes are manipulating the market. Why? Because I know the Author of the story. He is the source of information. He is the source of truth.

He IS Truth.
