Tick, Tock, Here, to There

John 1:1

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

OK, so God is outside of time and space. If you can't accept, that consider the scriptures that say He had no beginning and has no end. That He does not change.

That is God...The Father.

Time is change. He is outside and above it all.

It is incomprehensible to us, time based, progressive thinking beings. Because we think in time and motion...Tick, tock, here to there.

Yet we can know it is true because scripture says it's so. Of course, that is only possible because He gives the faith to believe, or rather the measure of the Holy Spirit to see it.

This passage in John reveals the start of time itself. God in time taking form... "in the beginning". It is the start, and it starts with the Word..."Let there be light".

As it says, the Word was with God and was God. This is the Son, the spoken Word of God. He is God, yet in time.

Technically, He IS time. God, with change. No, not money, actual change...Tick, tock, here to there.

Are you Following?

This is big stuff, and yes, it is extremely important.

Matthew 22:29

[29] Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.

We need to understand the power of God to know God.

Like the Sadducees in Matthew 22, we will get lost in stupid if we don't. They didn't think God was powerful enough to deal with their stupid questions.

If we start with how massive He really is...well, then our questions aren't "How is that possible?" (like Zachariah), but rather like "How will you do this?" (like Mary).

HE, like Gabriel, is only pleased with the latter.

Jesus is The Word. Like any book, any novel, the story starts with words. These words create the entire universe. They begin the story's flow of time. As you read that story, time flows, events happen...Tick, tock, here, to there.

John 1:3

[3] Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Can you see it?

It is written.

I changed nothing.

NOTHING WAS MADE WITHOUT HIM.

God is ALL things.

He IS

That's what HE called Himself to Moses. While the Jewish people made a big thing out of it, and refused to pronounce the name, they missed the whole message of the name He gave...I AM.

Yes, HE IS, from our perspective.

Forever present, all encompassing, He IS ALL in ALL.

"So what!?"

Yes, I know, I get this a lot. Some in person, but more so from those who won't even say it out loud. I still know. He says it's so.

That's because the sight is by Faith, and it is given by God...The Author. It is given through His Spirit. The Spirit reveals the Word. He opens the Book.

1 Corinthians 2:10-13

[10] but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

[11] For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

[12] We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

[13] This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

Ah, but if you have the sight, then you can accept the Power of God.

It is ABSOLUTE.

This gives a whole measure of understanding to the importance of faith...trusting God in all things including our thoughts, decisions, choices, and steps.

Without that faith, as strange as it sounds...we are on our own.

Yes, I know that makes no sense...but it would if you can see it.

1 Corinthians 2:16

[16] "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
