To Him Who Has Ears to Hear

I get it, you think Christianity is stupid and those who get caught up in it are weak.
Well, to some degree, that is true. We are weak.
You see, the Law of God, you know, that Moses and tablet thing, was given to mankind to show us our need for the One who made all things.
I know, "why would the Supreme Being make a world, a universe, that seems to hide him." It is a conundrum, one I've asked Him many times.
The truth is, He can be known, unfortunately, He is the only one who makes Himself known, and He doesn't do this for everyone. Just like us, He chooses who He wants to be closer to, and who He doesn't.
The trick is, He isn't making that choice based on our actions, no, in fact our actions only reflect the choice that He made before He said "Let there be light!" His choice, and all choices, were made before He sat down to write the first words that started our known universe.
Sure, it sounds crazy, and even though logic and evidence points to this big bang of sorts, the concept that someone initiated this thing eludes the "thinking" man.
I find this fascinating! Why would any Author do this? Create a story, where He reveals Himself, yet has most of the characters reject Him.
Reasons within Reasons.
Of course a being with such vast capabilities and an infinite nature would be impossible for us to grasp. We are in fact progressive by nature. He made us that way, because we are stuck in a flow of time. We are.
It's like riding in a car that we cannot stop or slow. We have no idea where we are going and what's ahead of us, and since we only got a quick glimpse of what we past, remembering where we came from, is skewed at best.
This is the information we have as we ride along, all to figure out more about who's driving this thing.
...if we have an interest to.
I have an interest. It is and has been my main focus for a long time. I believe it was there even when I was little. A curiosity for what is behind the hill that I just past, and what is behind the stars at night.
This curiosity, like salvation, isn't a choice I made, or make, this is the real illusion of the ride. The trick we really need to overcome. The one we never will, unless the Author writes it so.
We are made.
We are made the way we are.
Not by us.
By Him alone.
I get why this is so hard. God Himself set up this world to have this very struggle. He created a limited set of beings. He purposefully placed one difficulty in the mix, and sent in an antagonist just to push the two in the direction they needed to go...
"Is God evil then!!"
I'm sorry, this question seems so silly to me now. I did have it when I first started to examine the bigger picture, but after getting to know the Guy, I can't fathom why I ever had it.
Of course, The Author can write the story any way He wants, but in the face of suffering and pain, how can He be good? Like any author, his story contains struggle. It makes the story interesting.
On one hand, when we read a novel that has a disaster, we "feel" for those who suffer. Still, we know that they are just characters in a story and not "real", so we can go on about our day without falling apart due to compassion and grief.
"Thats cold!"
Is it?
Romans 9:22-23
[22] What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction?
[23] What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory--
As characters in a story, one's that cannot see outside the story, we can easily become lost in the story. Not seeing the forest though all of the trees. Not knowing The Author, through all of the words.
It is the same.
If, say, like any novel, most of the "characters" are not real, or temporary, meaning they "end" when the story does, why would we be so disturbed by it?
A hunter has no big problem shooting Bambi. Bambi tastes good.
"But its a living creature!"
I like deer meat. I've never shot one, but eating one that someone else shot is guilt free for me. Why?
I didn't see the animal suffer.
I have gone fishing, many times. It can be disturbing if I look at a fish as I'm reeling it in and think sympathetically. "What if that were me? I wouldn't much like being pulled out to space by a big hook in my mouth! Ouch!"
Sure, that would be problematic. It is in fact the argument those who hate hunting and fishing make.
Sympathy is not a bad thing, but what if the fish, deer, and all animals were simply programs. Creatures that are not "real" to begin with?
A program, or "bot" in any game, acts like a real person. The better the programming, the better the act. For the real player, it can be impossible to tell a bot from another human being in a game with a world-wide reach. To make this easier, the programmers gave the bots certain qualities, or rules to follow, that reveal their nature.
"Are you a bot?"
"Yes, I am a bot"
There have been games where it was this easy. All you had to do is ask.
We don't have it that easy.
"Are you saying that people who dont get saved are bots!?" "You sick, twisted bastard!"
Yes, actually, I am, and I think so does God.
Look at it...
John 3:3-6
[3] In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
[4] "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"
[5] Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
[6] Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
Matthew 8:21-22
[21] Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
[22] But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
"I was dead, now I'm alive"...
"I was blind, but now I see"...
Strike a nerve, or a chord?
If I hit a nerve, The Author doesn't want you to see...yet. If I struck a chord, congratulations! You are chosen to see a miniscule part of the bigger picture.
Careful, its nothing to boast about. As with salvation, you didnt do anything to get here...the driver did all the work, you are just a passenger. A real one, but still, just a passenger. Of course, if you are...you will understand this.
Bots have actions that expose them.
Salvation isn't just a simple prayer, it is an ongoing struggle to connect deeper and deeper to the One who holds the pen.
Why, I couldn't tell you, but as I see the sun come up, I see this. It's as obvious as day, even though I have no idea why it is.
"How, then can you see it?"
"How, then can you prove you are not crazy?"
1 Corinthians 2:6-16
[6] We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
[7] No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
[8] None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
[9] However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" --
[10] but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
[11] For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
[12] We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
[13] This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
[14] The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
[15] The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
[16] "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
Look, I know this is hard, impossible even. That, is in fact what is written here. No one is going to understand any REAL truth without being connected with the Mind of God, through the Holy Spirit. It will seem no different than a stupid ghost story.
The problem is our struggle to earn it. To work for truth. To trust the geeky looking guys who are simply other passengers. Ones that really like ascending to the shot gun seat.
The back of the bus was always the most fun.
This is a crazy article, I know. I have no idea why I'm writing it. Most of what I write just flows. I barely put a thought into it.
"You are doing automatic writing, and it's witchcraft!"
Ah, no. And I suggest being careful as the "leaders" in Jesus day accused Him of using Satan's power. It didn't go well for them.
Word Faith folks would call it the anointing, me, I just call it sitting with my Best Friend and taking notes. I really like it.
So far, I have almost no audience, and it used to bug me. Now, I see that the encouragement, to look more closely at Him, is mostly for me, but in the event that He places the words in front of another in the same vehicle, well, they would start to realize that no, they are not crazy at all...just really blessed.
That is nice!
You see, seeing is amazing. It's freeing to know without a doubt that Author is the Best! Along with that, His children are extremely important to Him. Everything that He writes both good and bad are to make them more.
Romans 8:28
[28] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Yes, it does in fact say this. It's just without that deeper understanding, seeing that it REALLY is true, it is just something we quote to get ourselves out of bed.
It's OK to want more.
It's OK to get aggressive with Him.
He does, in fact, like it.
Look, no one is going to be able to help you, other than Him. There are few on this road, He says it's so, so do not depend on anybody. The ministers should be pointing to Him, not to their ministry. All I'm doing is pointing to Him. If they dont do the same...go past them.
He is the direction. He is the driver. He is the vehicle. Of a truth, He is also you as the passenger, as He and you become one.
Ah, but that's another headache...
