Untouchable

Romans 9:16

16. It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

Yes, I've been writing a lot regarding God's sovereignty and all things being His choice...not ours.

Of course, this poses a number of questions regarding God being just and good. Scripture does address this rather clearly throughout, but nowhere better than in Romans chapter 9.

Paul states than man has no right to judge God, as he is comparatively clueless! We, like the rest of scripture have a "choice" then to ether accept God as He is (like He does with us), or try to change Him into something He is not...something we are more comfortable with (like a cow?)

"How can God create and sanction evil!? Doesn't that make Him evil?!!!"

When George Lucus wrote that general Tarkin used the Death Star to destroy the planet Alderaan, killing 2 billion people, was George evil for writing it that way?

"But, they weren't real people!!"

Ah, but are you?

John 3:3-6

3. In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. "

4. "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"

5. Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

6. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

We are dead already until we believe in Jesus Christ. We are born by the Spirit, when God gives us the grace to believe. "It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort..."

Like everyone who believes in Jesus, I too desire for my loved ones to receive that same grace. I greatly hope for this, but in no way will it diminish my respect and love for God, if He doesn't give it to them.

"That's cold!"

Is it? I have walked with Jesus for over 40 years. I know and understand Him as much as He will allow. With that understanding, that view of Him through faith, I "see" His goodness, no, greatness, and stand in awe of Him.

He knows what He is doing, infinitely more than George Lucas did when writing Star Wars.

So, if you can see beyond the flesh. Beyond this level's idea of right and wrong, you can break the 4th wall. This gives you a new perspective on the events of this world.

Before I started writing this, I read an article on Fani Willis and her bizarre attempt to attack Trump over the 2020 election. She didn't take the stand yesterday, and made a mockery of the whole thing. She acted as if she didn't take any of it seriously.

She doesn't. None of our evil characters do. They know they can get away with it. They are in fact untouchable.

"How so?"

The current evil overlord, yes, Satan, the Prince of this world, has their backs. He is their master in chief. Whether they truly know it or not, they sure know that they will get away with it all. All their "like-minded" evil friends do, and have so for years.

Hillary?

Ah, but you see, just like the villain in any comic book, they will only get so far. Sure, they all seem untouchable, overpowered, and supremely hateful, but they always end badly. It is the way The Author writes them.

They end.

The hero goes on.

This story, this universe, is no different. In fact, I postulate to you, that every story any man can write is only a poor reflection of the story written by God, The Father!

This story is the only one that matters. This outcome is the most important one.

The bad guy makes a choice..."Hmmm, should I blow up Alderaan?..." Yes, in the story he does. Sure, the Author wrote it, but in the story, General Tarkin made the decision, and 2 billion characters cease to exist in that saga.

It doesn't bother you, because to you they never really existed. The perspective is from outside. They didn't exist so there was no pain or suffering. But there was in the story! Princess Leah's adoptive parents were on that planet!

"She's just a character!"

Yes, yes, she is. Ah, but are you?

You do have a choice. Yes, you do.

You can choose to ignore The Author. You can choose to make Him into something more comfortable.

Or, you can seek Him to really know Him. You must understand, if you do this, it is because The Author made you that way. You choose to do good, and become more, born of Spirit, born of Eternal Intent! You become a hero, a primary character.

When this happens, like it does for ALL heroes, you will be in for the fight of your life. Evil will beat you down...only to make you stronger.

The bad guys, who seem untouchable, will mock you as you fail to reach them. Your life will be hell!...until you reach the climax.

Then it will change, abruptly and completely! The tables will turn, and your enemy will fall miserably!

You see, when you are with Christ, you ARE the main character in your story. In His story about you. You are written to show the Author's heart.

It can go no other way.

Romans 9:21-24

21. Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

22. What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction?

23. What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory--

24. even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

The advantage here is obvious. You can know who you are, by knowing The Author.

Me, I know. I know, He wrote me to know. I know He is good, and His story is awesome! I may have been beaten by the bad guys. I may have failed in my attempts to win, but the story is still progressing along. I "see" The Author. I know my place. My time will come. It is already written. For you see, they are not untoucheable...He is.

And, I'm with Him.
