You Can't Always Get What You Want

Yes, governments are corrupt, because men are corrupt.

In the book of Judges, I used to think it was a mess of a time...the worst. Some rather evil stuff happened then.

Judges 21:25

[25] In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.

So, when Israel pissed God off and begged to be like other nations and have a king, God gave them one. A man to focus on, trust in and blame when stuff hit the fan. It didn't go well either.

Why?

You must see that while God alone was the King over Israel, man still did what THEY saw fit. God, being God, was still and always in control of it.

The Guy commands the elements.

The Guy makes food fall from the sky.

The Guy walks on water.

The Guy raised dead people.

The Guy splits the ground open.

The Guy talks through animals.

God can do ANYTHING...He IS The Author.

So why all the trouble, evil and stupidity during the time of the Judges?

Pain, failure, and regret cause people to turn toward God.

Look, if God wanted to fix everything...He would.

"But He can't because we have to have Freewill!"

Garbage!

There is nothing in scripture showing anything remotely like the concept of Freewill or any other limitation that God supposedly has.

He has none.

Seriously, for the Guy who can do anything, what decision of man could, or would, EVER get in His way?

The freewill concept is absolutely unbiblical other than another excuse to "do as we see fit", or "I will ascend"!

Biblically, we never are, never were, never will ascend and be like God.

A king in Israel really didn't change anything, God still moved circumstances to drive men toward His direction.

Romans 8:28

[28] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

All things...good and bad, even if Satan, or an evil government, brings it.

Do you trust God?

Or a king?

Of course we want life to be better.

Of course we want life to be easier.

So why doesn't a God who can do it...do it?

Trust Him.

He says it all over scripture. He knows what He is doing, and His intentions are good.

Do you trust Him?

Pain, suffering and difficulty highlight our lack of faith and offer an opportunity for it to grow as we SEEK Him for answers. He responds to hearts that need Him and want to know truth.

He does.

So why are you getting no answers? You are either not asking or rejecting His answer.

"We want to be like other nations and have a king!"

Yes, it still pisses Him off.
