Can You Hear the Trumpet?

Updated: Nov 24

I read this last night...

Ezekiel 33:1-7

[1] The word of the LORD came to me:

[2] "Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: `When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman,

[3] and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people,

[4] then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head.

[5] Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself.

[6] But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.'

[7] "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.

When I woke throughout the night, at least three times. I kept waking up, having a flying dream each time.

I have had many flying dreams over the years, even one where I understood how to fly. In that dream, God showed me what they mean. Flying was walking by faith. Embracing the Spirit of God's direction in all movement.

In each dream last night, I was showing someone how to trust God and just do it.

Yet, the last dream I had was different, the dream I fully woke up with.

In this dream, I was at a day long conference for the Vineyard Association, a church body that I had been a church planter for...twice.

In this meeting, I didn't know anyone, and no one said a word to me. It was like I wasn't even there. In the dream, I went through the morning session, and even prayed outloud toward the end asking God why He wasn't moving like He used too. It was a heartfelt prayer and I was surprised after I finished that still, no one said a word to me.

I just didn't matter.

The dream went on as we took a break for lunch. I got in line to get food, but the cheap plastic utensils were covered in some kind of grease. It was gross. The food was the cheapest of hot dogs, which I politely took thinking that they looked disgusting.

It was then that I woke up.

It made me consider my calling. As I have written, God Himself told me my calling has been to be one of the "least" of His brothers. One who God uses to bring judgement to the Goats hiding, in plain sight, in the Church.

Yes, this is true. You can dissmis it all you want, but if it is true, then does it expose you, or exonerate you? I'm not kidding here.

On the heals of reading the chapter in Ezekiel 33, well, I think He is not kidding either.

Before we moved to Florida in 2016, I attended a church in Rockwall Texas called Reach Rockwall. I met with the same "pushed to the fringe" treatment I had gotten for many years, and at many churches, up to that point. Even though, at times there was a tiny effort to bring me in by very few. Several times I got to pray for the morning service, and once even share one of my dreams to the whole church.

This dream inspired a young woman to tell me one of hers, that she hoped I could interpret. I could in fact.

The dream: The woman, and her husband, who had a hearts desire to minister in the dark area of child trafficking, were in an area like Amsterdam, where they walked along a street with shop windows exposing pornagraphic acts to sell the wickedness inside. As they passed one window, they witnessed their own pastor molesting a little girl.

They immediately went into the "shop" to confront the pastor, who sheepishly just stood there as they railed on him. To their surprise, the little girl started to berate them for interfering! As they stood there stunned, she woke up.

I took a few days, and asked God what the dream meant. He did in fact respond. The woman really thought the dream had to do with their intented area of ministry, but it did not. The pastor and child dynamic, represented the actual dynamic in the churches all over the world. The pastor is stroking his congregation's egos, exciting them with platitudes and false positioning with God, molesting them, and they like it. In turn, they make him feel powerful.

I told her the meaning of the dream, but because of my calling, she dismissed it and never spoke to me again.

Now, years later, I realized that her dream was not a message for her at all. It was a message for me...to tell you, and anyone else who will listen.

It is my job, and I will do it. Me, I don't want the consequences, if I don't.

The churches have become goat pens full of people with no faith in God, but rather faith in themselves, stroked by pastors who, are in turn, stroked by their congregations!

I used to teach many years ago that there was no such thing as a great man of God. There isn't. There are only men of a great God.

Yet, we have lifted up these men who live like rock stars, with huge pulpits, and a massive following. They are revered, and treated like gods, while they ignore and "molest" the flock God gave them.

Please consider. This is what God says in the chapter following the command for a watchmen...

Ezekiel 34:1-10

[1] The word of the LORD came to me:

[2] "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?

[3] You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock.

[4] You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.

[5] So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.

[6] My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.

[7] "`Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD:

[8] As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock,

[9] therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD:

[10] This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

The churches are ignoring their responsibility. The flock has become like a high school where God's children are treated as outcasts for being different, or not fitting in.

Yes, I have not found one otherwise.

I could list many experiences that I have had over the years to verify. I have written about a few, but is anyone listening, is anyone ashamed?

I have not seen it.

Judgement is coming, not revival. It will be as written in God's word. It will culminate in what is called "the Great Falling Away".

The two greatest commands, Love God, and Love others, is not being obeyed.

Goats must be the highest. Smaller goats have no trouble with one higher as long as more are lower.

Salvation has nothing to do with your effort! If you think you are better than anyone, you are not saved. Your "sinner's prayer" was a work you think saved you!

It didn't anymore than the indulgences did for those who paid priests for them!

Phillipians 2:12-13

[12] Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

[13] for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

If you don't trust in God, you will not walk with Him. If you trust in God, it will show by what you do...particularly how you treat those Jesus called "the least of my brothers".

You have been warned.
