Divine Appointment

God is in control…complete control. If you belong to Him and trust Him, wherever you are and whatever you are doing, by choice or not, you are walking in His plan, even if you are not happy with it.

John 21:18

Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.

This was Jesus’ prediction of Peter’s future martyrdom. History records that Peter was crucified, many years later, upside down. God’s plan for us is set in stone. Regardless of all the decisions and choices made by Peter and those around him, this event was going to happen.

Just like where you are now, even if you did not want to be there.

Did God ordain life to take you were you do not want to go? Are you stuck in a dead end job, an unhappy marriage, or any one of the many life struggles? If you can change it without breaking His rules, do so. It is an open door only if you can actually go through it. If not, you will need to put on your big boy/girl pants and tough it out. You can make it. You may need His strength and encouragement, but you can make it.

It would help if the folks in the church have your back, but even if they don’t, God will help you through it… if you don’t give up and bail on him.
