Faith is not a Feeling

Like many words, the word Religion has come to mean something it never was. It now means or represents a “belief system”, a something that people believe in but have no evidence to believe in. That isn’t religion, it is stupidity.

Look, everyone is free to believe what they want, yes. Today, that extends to some pretty bizarre delusions. Have you ever seen the story about the girl who believes she is a cat? She even hisses at dogs…

For many people, this delusion (and yes it is a delusion) is not only accepted but celebrated! “Be who you are!” they say. “Such courage!” they say.

Well, it’s better than treating the deluded with contempt for sure. What is sad though, is that these same people who would celebrate an obvious delusion, condemn brutally, anyone who believes in Jesus Christ.

Why do you suppose that is??

I find it interesting, but just another reason that Christianity is true. “True?, How can you say that! THERE IS NO PROOF!” Well, sorry cupcake, yes there is.

Look, I have seen Jesus Christ myself…standing right in front of me. Have seen angels…one not a vision either…I could have poked him in the eye. I have seen demons and demonic manifestations, even the moving of solid objects to try to frighten me…it worked too. I have heard God speak, seen Him smile, and watched Him do what He said He would do! Yes, I have tons of proof.

Faith is not believing something without reason. It never was. The devil believes in God, of course he does! He has seen Him in a way none of us ever has. Yet, the devil doesn’t “trust” God. If he did, he wouldn’t be such an ass!

No, faith is trusting in someone you already know exists. Faith is knowing that what they say and do is right. Faith is trusting God as you would a loving Father. That is the faith that is spoken of throughout scripture.

A life that lives out that faith is what true religion is. It never was a “belief system”. It was a reality of relationship.

What kills me, is if you see the interaction of the devil with God in the book of Job, Satan doesn’t “know” God like we can. God asks the devil “Where have you been?” and the Devil responds “Going to and fro on the earth.” If I was the devil, and know God even a tiny bit like I do now, and had that rebellious and snarky attitude, I would have responded with “Why are you asking?? You already know!”

He does already know!

This is true! We Christians and students of God and His word can see that at the very least! God knows EVERYTHING. Yet Satan sure doesn’t here. Not only that, but he plays right into God’s hand with the whole Job thing…proving once again, God knows what He is doing and has a plan.

Satan knows God exists. That is definite. Yet he clearly doesn’t trust Him or “know” Him at all. It’s kind of sad too! This being, made so powerful and at such a high level of importance in all of reality, is as clueless as a man sacrificing a chicken to a statue of a goat.

Faith is KNOWING the person you trust in. Knowing them enough to change your life direction to what they recommend. Changing your thought patterns to mimic them because you think they are THAT awesome.

This is what Faith really is, and no, it has nothing to do with feelings.
