If God said it, it will happen.

Of this there is no doubt. God does not lie, and never, ever, fails. So the question remains...did God really say it?

There are plenty of scriptures taken out of context and "claimed" by Christians for anything from healing to a new car.

Look, if God said it, you can count on it whether you claim it or not. Your "claiming" is rather arrogant and unnecessary. For it is either true or not. If God said it, it WILL happen. You either believe it or you don't. There is no claiming necessary for those who trust God, only waiting.

So in regards to scripture, He did say it, yes. But does it apply to you directly or is it a general statement?

For instance, "by his stripes you are healed", which has been misused for years. God did say it, so it is true. But what did He mean by it and who does it really apply to? I have known many, many Godly people who died from cancer, sickness or lived with a damaged body part that never got healed. God does not lie, so obviously, this scripture does not apply to everyone, or means something different that a direct promise to heal everyone of a disease, sickness or physical damage.

Me, I think the passage refers to the general healing of our spirit or souls when we accept Christ. That definitely happens, even though a physical healing might not.

If the "promise" is general, or written to Israel as a group, it may not apply to you at all.

Additionally, the promise may not apply to you...today.

Say God sends an angel, prophet or man of God to you with a word from Him. That word, if it is really from God WILL happen. However, I have found God's timetable isn't like ours. The thing WILL happen, but it may not be done when or where you think it will. Like David with his promise to become King of Israel. Either way, if the Word is for you, you can count on it to happen...eventually. If it doesn't, then the person or angel who told you...lied. Anyone who has ever done that to you, should always be suspect going forward.

Now if God talks to you directly and tells you something will happen, and it doesn't, you either did not hear God or you are still waiting for Him to do it. There is no other way around it.

Those who tell you God's promises are tied to you believing they will happen are lying to you. The only times God does that are when He specifically says that the action is tied to something. Salvation for example is promised to everyone who believes in Jesus. But if God tells you something will happen, but doesn't preface it with a requirement...there is none. He WILL do it. IF, of course it really is Him.

This is not that hard. We have been sold a bill of goods by "name it and claim it" preachers. They are wrong. Investigate the word of God, not these teachers interpretation of it. Look at how God is, acts and responds throughout the book. There is ample evidence for what I say above.

No worries, if you still want to believe you have that much power, feel free. But if you walk away from God, because He didn't do what you "claimed", don't blame Him...blame your honored teachers who lied to you.

God, always does what He says He will do.
