Yes, heaven is a biblical concept. God gave it to the Jews, His chosen people to reveal the very path to that wonderful place.

Don't you think it would be a good idea to know what God told them on how to get there?

Well, you could make up your own theology on the path. Would that work to get you to any other location?

Wife: "Did you go to Starbucks?"

Husband: "No, the path I chose led me to the liquor store..."

Yeah, that evening didn't go well for the husband. Well, at least he could drown his sorrows in booze...

You cannot make up your own truth. It either is or isn't. But to talk about going to heaven without a clue how to get there is just plain nuts.

Think you are OK because you fed that homeless guy? You know that is addressed in the book. Hint: it won't help you.

Think Jesus is just so nice, he will accept everyone? Judas didn't make it. Oh, and Jesus could have said something before the betrayal..."Dude, this is a bad idea, please don't."

Jesus knew, yes he did, but didn't say anything but that the betrayal would happen and the man who did so was doomed.
