Last Night

Updated: Jun 21

Last night at a men’s bible study, the topic of predestination came up.

I have a rather different view from the typical modern Christian perspective. As almost always, when I say what I believe, I get quite a bit of heat. I don't mind so much, but it is a bit frustrating that my thoughts are so readily dismissed.

They stumble over me.

I don't have a bible college degree (truthfully by God's own command to me) nor do I have a TV, or radio program, in fact I don't have any means of looking important in the world’s eyes at all. Kind of like certain unlearned fishermen... I do have this; I have seen God, yes Jesus himself.

People can think I am crazy all they want, I don't much care. He has talked to me quite a bit over the years, though I still know nothing to what is yet to be known. He just taught me something awesome a few minutes ago and confirmed it by a post of a new FB friend just minutes after I could see it. He does things that way a lot.

I have known for a while that Faith in God is everything that God truly wants from us. That Faith is not just believing that God exists, but also that He is fully in control of ALL things, and he has a great plan for us. Faith is trusting in God's plan, and his purpose, that his intentions are all good. Faith is in God’s heart, his motive, His love for us. And it is not based on what we do, or how we react. Although, our faith is shown by how we act, or react.

I understand now that faith is really the fuel for the journey. Faith drives effort or works...behavior...change. Without faith we will not change, we will not move. We will stagnate. But to truly move we must grow or increase our faith in God, and his plan.

That comes from his word (Jesus/Scripture). His word gives us knowledge of God. If we accept that knowledge we can know God, if we reject that knowledge, we don't really know God, and we are not worshiping based on truth.

Without truth there is no real relationship with God. He accepts us as we are, to have perfect relationship with Him we must accept Him as HE is. We must swallow the truth that God is completely in charge, of all things good or bad. That there is a great reason for all of it...every little bit of our struggles in life.

This is his plan and it is all good. Once we believe that, have Faith in that, we can then keep moving forward to a more perfect relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Just some thoughts from one who is foolish. It may confound the "wise" but hopefully, will connect with other "fools"... Welcome to my club.
