Loving Others

If love were just a feeling, it would be impossible to love your enemy. You can not have happy and good feelings toward someone who hates you and treats you badly.

No, that is not what God expects from us.

Love is an action. It is kindness, mercy and good treatment toward others. That is love. It is an act, not a feeling. A choice, not an emotion. You can love your enemy by being kind to them when they are not. Good to them when they are evil.

This is how God treats those that hate Him, and sadly, there are a great number of them.

You do not fall out of love. No, what really happens is that you decide to act evil. If you are unkind to your brother or sister, you do not love them. If you do not love them, as it is written in the scriptures, you do not love God either.
