Making It Worse

John 16:33

  1. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Jesus, being God The Father in time and space, a perfect representation or avatar of His presence, lived and walked through this existence as an example of how to get through this life.

His greatest effort to show how to live?

His surrender to the Father's will.

Yes, God The Father, being The Author of this story, has an undefeatable will. What He wants WILL happen. Yet, being IN His story, and not being above it, we must learn and grow in faith as we walk it will out.

Jesus did this as an example, perfectly. He knew, even, that trouble was coming. He knew long before He got there that He was going to the cross. What He didn't do, was make it worse.

Faith in God demands us to press forward as we deal with the troubles God has purposely put in our path. We KNOW He has a good plan for all of it. A lack if faith just makes this struggle more difficult.

A man has a crappy job. He tries extensively to find a better one but us unable. Seeing there is no other option to improve his situation, he lies on his resume to get a better job. He does get the job, but God exposes his lack of faith, and he gets fired. Now, getting even the crappy job that he left is impossible.

He made it worse.

A man is married, his wife grew fat and became depressed and angry. After counseling, sacrifice and patience, the man decides to abandon his vows and leave his spouse. His now ex-wife takes his house, car and most of his income for years.

I could go on and on. We all see it every day. Some are even in that harder place, made so by our stubborn refusal to accept God's path and try to do it our way.

God's word says life here is made for trouble. Yet, it also says that there is a greater purpose for it all. Our only job is to trust The Father and keep moving forward...sacrificing our very life if need be.

That is Faith.

1 Corinthians 7:20-24

  1. Each one should remain in the situation which he was in when God called him.

  1. Were you a slave when you were called? Don't let it trouble you--although if you can gain your freedom, do so.

  1. For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord's freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ's slave.

  1. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

  1. Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to.

Sure, if you can make life better, do so, but never, and I mean never, go against the better path God has set out in His word. If you do...it will only make everything worse!

Truly, it would be very wise to study that book, so you can actually know God's better path.
