Praying Hard or Hardly Praying

Prayer IS talking to God.


God IS the most powerful being in the universe. The Author of the story. The One and Only, outside of time and space.


He, of course can do anything, anytime, and anywhere.


Job 42:1-2

1. Then Job replied to the LORD:

2. "I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.


Ephesians 3:20

20. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,


And no one can stop, slow, or interfere with whatever He wants to do.


Revelation 3:7

7. "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.


So, if you are asking your mom for a cookie, will she be more likely to give you one if you ask her hard?


"MOM! GIVE ME A COOKIE!!!"


How about if you ask her repeatedly?


How about if you use a huge amount of words?


"Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, if thouist I may, havist a cookie, for I am mortally famished. I have beeneth a good boy in thy sighteth. I pray to thou in thy most holy name...in the name of mom....amen."


After she got of the floor laughing at your stupidity, she just might give you the cookie, in spite of the foolish way you asked. You made her laugh after all.


Of course your mom would give you the cookie, unless she had a good reason not to. That is assuming you have a loving mom, and you have not been a jerk.


It's just in the asking.


Talking to God is no different. It isn't hard. It isn't long, and it doesn't have some canned formula. Using techniques, methods, patterns, and many words, are more likely to piss Him off, just like they would your mom.


Using words to manipulate or attempt to coerce God will get you His annoyance...in a big way.


Saying "In Jesus name" is not a means of "claiming" His authority. His authority is given when and where He wants. When His authority is actually on you, then, and only then, are you doing something in His name.


By personal experience, you will KNOW when you have His authority. When you do, you will speak or do whatever He tells you without any fear, doubt, or concern, even if it is really, really out of place.


When He is behind it, what you say will prove true, and what you do will blow the minds of those who see it.


Because it is Him, not you.


Faith is not something you can generate. It is given, and comes with that authority. It has nothing to to with your ability to will it. No, it only comes with His will.


It's like when He steps into a room...everything changes.


Witchcraft is the sin of rebellion. Rebellion is putting ourselves in God's place, and denying Him His. He is God, way more powerful than your mom, who only by God, has a small amount of authority over you.


If it would irritate your mom, then how do you really think God feels?


You could ask Him, but I suggest you do it simply, with only the words necessary, and without claiming any right to know...


Yeah, if you are His, He is not likely to turn you away. He is the most loving Father there is.


He loves you WAY more than your mom.


Yes, He does.
