The Recession Lie
The biggest layoff I have experienced was in late 2008. Just after the election of Barak Obama. Prior to the election, the media was stoking fears of a recession.
re·ces·sion
rəˈseSH(ə)n/Submit
noun
a period of temporary economic decline during which trade and industrial activity are reduced, generally identified by a fall in GDP in two successive quarters.
The media ignored the actual definition and claimed there was a recession even though at that time, up until after the election there wasn't two successive quarters with a downturn. There wasn't. I knew people who kept shouting that the media was wrong and felt that they were pushing a narrative to drive fear in voters. The shouting was not heard and the media did drive the fear they intended...manipulating the populous instead of reporting factual news.
I lost my job because of them. HP reacted and instead of getting caught with their pants down like they did in the .com bust, laid off a considerable number of people including me.
I got back from the gym just now. I don't watch the news, not any news, but I do go to a few websites for major stories now and again, so I don't get caught up into men influencing men. At the gym, there is a whole slew of TVs on. Though I couldn't hear the sound, the text was visible for the conversations going on.
On CNN, and other outlets, all I saw was text showing how the polls show a distrust for the president, how his approval rating is down and a number of "guests" who say there are massive problems. In none of the stories did they say what the problems were or what lies the president said. Basically, the "news" they were reporting was a clear attempt to manipulate the viewers like they did in 2008. They had no story, but kept putting out "polls" and opinions. The stories in themselves had no other purpose than to drive opinion with opinion, puppeting the populous.
I found it disturbing. Look, we all have opinions and desires for the way the country should go. We all have various views on morality. However, if you or anyone has to lie and manipulate in order to win, you are already in the wrong.
If you can't truthfully win an argument, you are either wrong or the person you are trying to convince is beyond reason. Give up, but don't ever stray from truth. If you do, then, like I said...you are already wrong.
And if you are wrong, at least be honest with yourself. A lie is bad enough, no one can trust you, but if you can't trust yourself with yourself, you are in a really bad place.
Winning isn't any good if you cheated. Where is the good in that...ever?
And please, don't be a puppet! Man isn't trustworthy. And a man who is a puppet is one of the most embarrassing examples of our kind in all of the cosmos. This is how evil men can get away with really great evil. For evil men can do nothing without a large following to back them up and willingly believe their lies.
